Biography: Life started out growing up in the family hotel business and Alison’s first career developed in the operational side of the hospitality industry, firstly in the family business and then in restaurants, pubs and nightclubs.
Wanting to change careers, Alison enrolled on a full-time post-grad course in Human Resources in 1994 and moved into HR with Marriott Hotels in 1995. Alison’s career in HR developed working for some well-known names (Forte, WHSmith, Securitas, UNITE) before setting up enlightenHR in 2004.
A good grounding in business operations is the bedrock on which a successful career in HR has been built. Knowing that SMEs needed to be able to tap into expert HR advice as and when they needed it was the basis for enlightenHR.
